Legendary session bassist Chuck Rainey played the iconic bassline on Steely Dan’s “Peg”. His rhythmic and syncopated grooves which famously incorporated slap techniques on the choruses—helped define the signature sound of the track. Rainey was a frequent collaborator with the band, contributing heavily to their landmark 1977 album “Aja.”
