I find it easier to play the main riff hammer-ons on the E and A strings instead of the A and D strings like Chris Squire did! Squire created his legendary tone on “Roundabout” with a Rickenbacker 4001 bass, turning up the treble for that signature metallic bite. He also added a touch of overdrive and blended it in the studio with a mic’d acoustic guitar quietly doubling the bassline an octave higher!
